Arthur Thompson

AIA
Founder, Senior Architect

An accomplished architect with over 40 years of experience, Arthur specializes in the programming, planning, and design of justice, government, and healthcare projects. As an undergraduate psychology major at Harvard, Arthur assisted with a therapy group in the Massachusetts prison system. There, he became interested in the impact of the traditional correctional environment on incarcerated individuals and staff behavior. Arthur carried this interest into the next phase of his education and career.

Today, Arthur focuses on building designs that positively impact behavior and incorporate contemporary justice design principles. A thought leader in national correctional program design, he serves as an instructor for the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) and applies the principles he teaches to his work across a broad spectrum of project types and sizes.
