As the leader of SMRT’s New York regional market team and the Capital Region, New York office, Michael brings more than 25 years of hands-on experience leading both public and private projects of varying scale. Well versed in all aspects of architectural practice—including design, sustainability, project management, technical documentation, and construction administration—he specializes in the management of complex new construction, adaptive reuse/historic preservation, and high-performance buildings. Michael is passionate about preserving our nation’s most significant landmarks, collaborating on numerous projects with the National Park Service, National Archives & Records Administration, and the U.S. Department of State.
Working closely with SMRT’s leadership, Michael is actively involved in identifying opportunities to continue to grow SMRT’s presence in Western Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. In addition to his leadership role at SMRT, Michael served on the Board of Fellows at Norwich University from 2017 through 2023. The Board of Fellows fosters and advances the welfare of the University with a particular focus on supporting the School of Architecture.
