Knox County Regional Airport Terminal
This attractive, environmentally-friendly terminal serves Maine’s seasonally busy Midcoast, replacing two inadequate modular buildings incapable of handling increased traffic levels.
SMRT, working with the airport’s consulting engineer, designed the terminal for energy efficiency, incorporating high performance insulation, LED lighting, water-conserving plumbing fixtures and a geothermal heating and cooling system. The efficient layout houses Transportation Security Administration (TSA) administrative offices and security screening, restrooms, seating, café, gift shop and car rental offices.
A shingle-style exterior and regionally-inspired interior finishes convey a comfortable, welcoming greeting to travelers.
