Southern Maine Health Care Master Plan
Comprehensive master planning allowed the medical center to plan for positive future growth and change. SMRT confirmed SMHC’s existing program information, understood anticipated growth and change in each department, developed options for department locations, adjacencies and configurations, and developed phasing and implementation recommendations to realize the master plan in built form.
Identified as a result of the master planning process, the Dorothy Walker Bush Pavilion positioned Southern Maine Health Care as its community’s provider of choice, creating a new main entrance to the hospital and more than doubling the size of its emergency department.
