Calais Land Port of Entry Commissioning and LEED Consulting Services

Working for the General Services Administration (GSA), SMRT provided commissioning services for the Calais Land Port of Entry—a LEED Gold Certified facility. The complex, designed by Robert Siegel Architects, consists of commercial and non-commercial inspection facilities and supporting staff areas including a firearms range, USDA/FDA laboratories, and UV disinfection equipment.

Beyond providing peer review for engineering and LEED architectural requirements, SMRT commissioned the HVAC system, lighting controls, domestic hot water, emergency power, fire suppression, and fire alarm systems. The commissioning process included a complete measurement and verification plan, followed by a detailed review of the
project’s energy performance.

This project was one of several projects supporting the GSA.
