Remembering David Mains

Remembering David Mains

Yesterday, we lost a member of our SMRT family. David Mains was our friend, our partner, our colleague and someone who could always be counted on to step up. He was all in all the time, with a rare enthusiasm for anything he undertook. We are all saddened, stunned and grasping for words, trying to understand the impossible reality of the accident that took him away.

David was willing to help anyone, always ready to go the extra mile for his colleagues, his clients and anyone in need. He was passionate about his work as an architect. He was passionate about the brotherhood of firefighters he was a part of in Raymond. Above all else, David loved his family: his four children and wife, Jen, and his huge extended family. He always had a wonderful story.

David’s enthusiasm and energy seemed boundless – some of us wondered if he ever slept. Somehow he managed to work tirelessly for his clients, would spend time with his family and still take a shift at the Raymond Fire Station and maybe throw in a couple of nights of coon hunting on top of it all.

There is so much we will miss about David – his positive energy, his love for his family, his booming voice, his expertise, and his commitment to everything he undertook.
