Confidential Client Radiopharmaceutical R&D and Manufacturing Facility
Bringing Radiopharmaceutical Therapies (RPTs) from discovery to clinical scale requires a facility that can hold both functions at once: the controlled precision of early-stage research and the infrastructure demands of scalable production. Designing for that range, within a single operational environment, is the core challenge.
SMRT is providing full architectural and engineering services for this new radiopharmaceutical research and manufacturing center in the Salt Lake City area. Phase 1 encompasses approximately 25,000 square feet within an existing facility, incorporating a vivarium suite, radiochemistry lab, chemistry and tissue culture labs, as well as a dedicated workplace. Phase 2 will follow, adding production facilities and an expanded workplace to bring the total program to roughly 55,000 square feet.
Both phases are planned in concert so that early infrastructure decisions support later buildout, avoiding the cost and disruption of retrofitting systems that weren’t designed to grow. The result is a facility where research capacity comes online first, and manufacturing capacity follows, aligned to the client’s pipeline and commercial trajectory.
