Dedicated to driving large-scale change for its employees and the community, Martin’s Point Health Care focuses on attracting and retaining the highest-quality workforce which will ultimately enhance the healthcare services at its clinical locations. The new Executive Center and Administrative Offices building on the Veranda Street campus will feature two floors of administrative office space, uniting approximately 400 hybrid and in-office employees in a single location, and two floors of open-air parking.

Inspired by the concept of togetherness—merging multiple locations into one, welcoming employees returning to the workplace, and harmonizing with nature—SMRT’s design approach emphasizes the user experience, creating an inviting, high-end atmosphere with a hospitality-inspired aesthetic. Designed for flexibility, the central floor plan of the new 100,000-square-foot building can be adjusted to accommodate a variety of organizational needs, providing an adaptable work environment with collaboration areas, huddle spaces, and traditional desk space. The building leverages its location on the Portland peninsula to optimize daylight, thermal comfort, and air quality.

The initiative emphasizes Martin’s Point’s commitment to being more sustainable both operationally and environmentally. The Executive Center and Administrative Offices building continues the long-standing relationship between SMRT and Martin’s Point, which has previously resulted in four new medical office buildings utilized as practitioner space. The Maine-based not-for-profit provides health plans and primary care services to New England and beyond.
