Nick Vaughn

As the head of SMRT’s education practice, Nick brings over 20 years of experience leading the programming, planning, and design of academic, student life, and athletic spaces. Nick has designed high-performing residence halls, libraries, dining facilities, research and education facilities, and academic buildings across the country.

Always on top of the latest trends in higher education, Nick is motivated by his passion for education design. He believes in “Designing to achieve the optimal student experience, both as it happens and as it’s remembered far into the future.” Having successfully designed projects for Penn State University, Virginia Tech, The University of Oklahoma, University of Maine, and Hyde School, among others, Nick helps SMRT’s education clients achieve their mission to deliver a transformative campus experience for the students of today and tomorrow.
