Bill Heil

Joining SMRT in 2010, Bill leads our electrical engineering group. In his 34 years of practice, he has applied his experience in electrical engineering design to projects across various sectors, including institutional, government, healthcare, educational, retail, and industrial.

Proficient at project management, technical drawings and specifications, due-diligence reports, and power studies, Bill has designed systems for healthcare facilities, pharmaceutical and medical laboratories, military bases, multi-building campuses, and a Major League Baseball park. He is skilled at the design of normal and emergency power systems, lighting, fire alarms, security, and tel/data systems. He is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), where he serves as president of the Portland chapter.
