Martin’s Point Health Care Medical Office Buildings
SMRT designed three medical office buildings (MOBs) for Martin’s Point Health Care between 2013 and 2016.
These next-generation MOBs support Martin’s Point’s mission to achieve the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s (IHI) Triple Aim to improve population health and patient experience while lowering the cost of care. This series of medical office buildings supports a team-based care model where a broad spectrum of physicians, advanced practice professionals, and care coordinators deliver care in an open, collaborative work environment.
Utilizing a process of standardization and prototyping, the team achieved iterative improvements to the design with each new MOB and realized significant savings in both time and cost. Lean principles, a core client value that allows patient volume to flex over time while maintaining optimal staff efficiency, informed the programming and design model.
