From Research to Ribbon Cutting: SMRT’s New Workplace Studio Aligns Client Goals and Vision

Jeana Stewart, NCIDQ, LEED AP, has been elevated to lead SMRT’s newly formed Workplace Studio.

Stewart has more than a decade of experience in the research, planning and design of workplace environments for clients in the corporate, education, science and technology, and government sectors.

Her selected experience includes the programming and design of the interior fit-up for the new WEX global headquarters, as well as interior workplace renovations for Raytheon Electronic Systems, and the British International School in Boston, among others.  Stewart has also designed interior spaces on academic campuses across New England, including Unity College, Kennebec Valley Community College, Lakes Region Community College and Plymouth State University.

“Space, and the process used to design it, should speak directly to each organization’s unique culture and values,” says Stewart. “Today’s technology-enabled work spaces must support mobility and accommodate five generations of workers with varying communication styles, as well as offer the flexibility to transition to whatever is coming next. Jeana will provide vision and thought leadership to workplace environments planning and design. She will work closely with all of our market sector leaders to pursue projects with workplace environment components.”

Stewart is past president and a former board member of the Maine Interior Design Association (MIDA).  A nationally and Maine-certified interior designer, she has presented at NeoCon and NNECERAPPA. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Mount Ida College and joined SMRT in 2007.
