Women’s Reentry Center Receives AIA/Academy of Architecture for Justice Award

Weโ€™re honored to be published as an award recipient from the AIA/Academy of Architecture for Justice, Justice Facilities Review (JFR) Program for our work on the Womenโ€™s Reentry Center in Windham, ME. The JFR recognizes exceptional practice and form in planning and design for justice architecture. Graham Vickers, the projectโ€™s lead Architect, seen below at last nightโ€™s ceremony.

โ€œThis project exemplifies our commitment to designing environments that support restorative justice. Providing a safe, secure, and normative space to help women transition back into the community is an often overlooked step in the rehabilitation process. Giving people a sense of purpose through education and programs restores self-esteem and positions offenders for success. We’re proud to play a role in helping these women on their journey to a successful reentry into society.โ€

Graham Vickers, Principal / Lead Architect

“Clear relationship between intention and resolution in design. Progressive programming and simple economical construction, with clarity of planning and lots of daylight.”
