Visitors are greeted by an inviting entryway created using natural and enduring materials like raw plywood and concrete that softens the building’s sharp angles. Interior design cues pay tribute to the camp’s existing structures, such as exposed trusses, maroon accents found in the campers’ cabins, and oars dedicated to the donors who made the project possible.
The assembly hall will serve as the camp’s heart. Framed by timber construction, its open atmosphere fosters a sense of connection and inclusiveness where campers will gather for meals, engage in activities, and create lasting memories. Direct access to covered porches allows visitors to enjoy breathtaking sunsets.
Built-in booths transform the corridor into a vibrant, multipurpose space. Thin plywood panels line the corridor, extending the camp’s aesthetic and drawing the eye upward to the ceiling’s exposed trusses.
