SMRT provided procurement documents for the design and construction of a new, full-service, 600-bed juvenile correctional facility in Puerto Rico. The facility is designed to house pre- and post-adjudicated male and female juveniles, with the required separation among populations.
The design is based on an education model that includes a full program of support spaces, such as classrooms, a library, healthcare and mental health services, and full court facilities.
As the project will be realized under a Public Private Partnership (P3) delivery model, the team developed the bridging documents, including full schematic design, technical performance specifications, and give-back requirements.
